Photofacials are often overlooked and undervalued, but they are fabulous treatments! Photofacial, also called IPL, or “Intense Pulsed Light”, is a light-based device used for skin rejuvenation. It has been shown to help improve the appearance of broken capillaries and brown skin discolorations, as well as to tighten and refine the appearance of the skin.
Most patients report positive results after the first treatment: some are immediate; some results take a few days. Studies indicate 90% of Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation patients have a high degree of overall satisfaction with the results, which are long lasting with continued use of sunscreen.
After the first Photofacial treatment, skin will already feel smoother. Like other laser-based procedures, Photofacial’s light beam typically feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. After treatments, pain is reported as either very mild or nonexistent. Photofacial is a low risk, nonsurgical procedure with clinical results. A Photofacial package can rejuvenate your skin and make you feel years younger.
Given that there is little damage to the skin surface, several treatments may be required to see the desired effect. For best results, approximately 3-5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, are recommended. The number of photofacials you will need will vary depending on the condition you’re treating, the results you want, and how your skin responds. Side effects can include transient redness and increased or decreased pigment.

Getting a tattoo can be an exciting experience, and most people believe they’ll love their design forever when they receive it. Despite this, many individuals eventually decide to remove the image due to a variety of reasons, including concerns related to employment and a sense of embarrassment. Regardless of the motivations, patients seeking tattoo removal should thoroughly research the options available prior to treatment. Dramatic advances in laser technology have helped to make removal more effective, faster, and safer, but which device is the right one? At Radiance Medical Spa, we utilize the state-of-the-art PicoSure™ laser tattoo removal system, which can offer rapid results, gentle treatment, and a high level of customization.
There are numerous reasons for considering PicoSure™ laser tattoo removal, but the one most commonly reported by our patients is the effectiveness on stubborn blue and green inks. Using PressureWave Technology, the PicoSure™ laser emits short pulses of energy into the ink, which breaks down the pigment into tiny particles the body can more easily absorb and clear away. The energy is designed to target the ink specifically, leaving surrounding tissue unharmed. The state-of-the-art system works well on all pigment colors and most skin types. Furthermore, fewer treatment sessions are typically required to successfully eliminate the image than with thermal lasers.
Though not necessarily on the list of to-dos for patients seeking tattoo removal, an added benefit of PicoSure™ treatments is the potential for skin enhancement. The laser energy has the ability to provide rejuvenate skin tone and texture while reducing the appearance of fine lines, photodamage, and acne scars.
We exclusively offer the gold standard in laser tattoo removal technology. With the array of benefits that are associated with PicoSure™, this innovative device can help our patients erase unwanted tattoos and resume their lives, often with a revitalized appearance and renewed sense of confidence.

Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing can help treat a number of common skin conditions, including sun damage, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. While there are many qualified practices offering this popular technology, successful laser treatment requires more than skill and experience; it also requires an appreciation of the singular characteristics and personal goals of each patient. At our medical spa, we utilize a comprehensive approach that evaluates several factors—such as patient goals, areas of concern, and skin type—before developing a customized treatment plan that can offer each patient the best possible results.
One of the ways we can offer an exceptional experience is with our state-of-the-art technology. We utilize the versatile, effective, and advanced DEKA DOT Fractional CO2 Laser. This innovative device stimulates collagen production in targeted areas generally with less downtime and fewer risks than traditional, ablative, non-fractional lasers. Furthermore, discomfort is minimized due to the less abrasive quality of fractional lasers. As a result, we are able to reduce fine lines, minimize acne and facial scars, and smooth uneven skin texture in relative comfort.
During the initial consultation, we discuss each patient’s aspirations and skin concerns and provide a detailed analysis. We believe aesthetic enhancement is a collaborative effort, so we will recommend complementary treatments, review before-and-after photos, discuss all risks and benefits, and clarify reasonable expectations for results to help each individual make an informed decision. To help reduce risk of complications, we may even perform a “test spot” to help determine if the treatment will produce the intended effect.

Capable of dramatically enhancing skin tone and texture and reducing common signs of aging, fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments available. At our medical spa, Dr. Max Lehfeldt utilizes the state-of-the-art DEKA DOT Fractional CO2 Laser, which is a highly effective and gentle method for renewing the skin and restoring a more youthful appearance.
Traditional, ablative, non-fractional lasers—once the standard for helping to treat sun damage, fine lines, and acne scars—can offer excellent results relatively quickly; however, treatments are typically painful, harsh on the skin, and often come with an elevated risk for hypopigmentation.
Our fractional CO2 laser provides a quicker recovery, reduced discomfort, and long-lasting gradual improvement. Due to the increased benefits, fractional lasers have completely supplanted non-fractional lasers in the field of aesthetic enhancement.
Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing is designed to stimulate natural collagen production in the skin of the face, neck, chest, and hands, leading to steady rejuvenation over several months and lasting up to several years. Additionally, laser resurfacing can be used in combination with aesthetic facial surgery, such as a facelift or neck lift, to achieve the best results possible.
Other benefits of Fractional CO2 laser skin treatments include:
- Minimizes sun damage, acne scars, and fine lines
- Improves skin texture and evens skin tone
- Stimulates collagen for firmer, more youthful skin
- May help treat pre-cancerous skin lesions
- Minimal downtime
Some redness after treatment is normal, and both topical and oral medications are provided to help manage discomfort. Healing times are typically quicker than with non-fractional lasers, and patients can expect to see some improvement immediately with more pronounced effects visible after a few months.
